What you will be doing:
- Provide 24x7 support and maintenance for production databases
- Maintain and monitor database backups and rotating archives of backup files
- Production database disaster recovery
- Configure and monitor database mirroring for mission-critical databases
- Configure and monitor log shipping for selected databases
- Daily database server health checks for: backups, jobs, mirroring, replication, etc.
- Monitor and profile production database servers for load and performance bottlenecks
- Query optimization and performance tuning
- Assist application developers with database schema and procedure changes according to company conventions and best practices
- Analysis and approval of database schema and procedure changes from dev to staging to production environments
- Write and update advanced stored procedures for business reporting purposes
What you need:
- Extensive experience with SQL Server 2005
- Thorough understanding of relational database design and concepts
- Strong working knowledge of server hardware including RAID configurations, network configuration
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system
- Understanding of execution plans and how to use them to optimize/improve query costs
- Experience with SQL Server 2005 database mirroring, replication, and log shipping
- Experience with SQL Server clustering
- Ability to accurately work within the company conventions for database object naming and SQL code within stored procedures and triggers
- Table partitioning experience for data archiving a plus

We are currently looking for a Data Specialist with a background in Data Analytics and Informatics, to take on a key role where you will be responsible for, manipulating, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data to support decision making in the healthcare industries, by both the Firm professionals and client constituents.
Specific elements of the role include:
Work as part of a project team to coordinate development and maintenance of SQL databases and analytical models to meet client engagement needs
Process information through the compilation, importation, categorization, calculation, and validation of data
Design and program queries to analyze large health care information datasets in order to identify and evaluate trends, opportunities, and compliance issues
Perform ongoing data validation and testing to ensure data integrity and reliability
Prepare management reports to effectively communicate and explain complex information, define and evaluate problems, identify underlying facts or trends, and present conclusions or recommendations
Plan, develop, and implement security measures to safeguard Protected Health Information
Provide basic technical support in the areas of database administration, data warehousing and database performance
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Computer and Information Science, Management Information Systems, Management Science, or similar curriculum
Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database software
Experience with database reporting tools and packages such as Business Object Crystal Reports, Tableau, etc.
Knowledge of practical application of relational database design principles, techniques, and procedures
Two-to-three years of relevant professional related work experience (experience in health care preferred)
Knowledge of SAS, SQL+, or Oracle a plus
Microsoft SQL Server certification a plus

- Maintain and monitor database backups and rotating archives of backup files

- Ability to accurately work within the company conventions for database object naming and SQL code within stored procedures and triggers

Our client is seeking strong SQL Server Developers to architect, design, develop, and maintain a new worldwide SQL Server 2005/2008 data warehouse application that is accessed in Asia, Europe, and the Americas using a skill set concentrating in SQL Server 2005/2008, TSQL, Stored Procedures, and Triggers. The SQL Server Developers will design and develop and expand a centralized SQL Server data warehouse and many local SQL Server databases, and will implement new application and modules and maintain existing replication between this huge centralized global SQL Server data warehouse and local SQL Server databases. SQL Server Developers will redesign and develop new large 5-10 Terabyte SQL Server databases and maintain existing clustered SQL Server database with 20+ Terabytes and growing.
The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include (items are required unless noted otherwise):
5-10 years of SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 design, architecture, and development experience
Super strong SQL Server 2005 skill set with Transact SQL and Stored Procedures
Experience with large SQL Server databases or reporting system that consists of 5-20 TB of data is highly desired

Main Tasks/Responsibilities:- Managing and administering SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 databases, ensuring availability and performance of all SQL Server databases. - Leading the database space and allocation planning and assisting in ensuring that the necessary associated hardware resources are allocated to the databases. - Performance tuning and resource monitoring of various databases, including analyzing and reporting on metrics and trends.- Implementation of database and data architecture monitoring technologies and procedures and proactively monitor the database systems and resources to ensure secure, stable, high-performing services with minimum downtime. - Performing performance tuning of the database systems, jobs, indexes, queries and configurations.- Participate in the formulation and monitoring of policies, procedures and standards relating to database management, and working with the teams in the design and implementation of database security policies and integrity controls.- Serve as an active member of Data Architecture Committee, with primary responsibility for MS SQL Server database environment, including evaluation and assessment of technologies, versions , concepts and strategies.- Participating in the design and implementation of a scalable, highly available, global data architecture, including the employment of technologies/concepts such as Service Broker, SQL replication, SQL clustering, data integration, ETL, Master Data Management, and Data Warehouses.- The implementation of database backup and recovery technologies and procedures, as well as monitoring, testing and issue resolution.- Working with the development teams on projects and systems in database modeling and design, creating/tuning/optimizing indexes, stored procedures, DTS/SSIS packages and SQL jobs, as well as assisting in troubleshooting, performance tuning and general problem solving of SQL development.- Installation and configuration of SQL Server 2005/2008 databases on Windows 2003 Enterprise servers (32bit/64bit) in high availability environment, including reviewing, testing and implementing the database portion of third party software.- Performing all changes and maintenance of the databases, including rollouts and upgrades, as well as testing and approving SQL Server patching.- Participating in on-call support and managing SQL Server monitors and alerts.Requirements:- 5+ years experience supporting MS SQL Server as Database Administrator - 3+ years experience with database modeling, stored procedures, jobs, complex queries and modifications- 3+ years experience programming in T-SQL.- 3+ years experience troubleshooting database, system, and/or networking issues.- Candidate must possess self-motivation and strong communication and problem solving skills.- Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2005 & 2008 RDBMSs (Standard and Enterprise Editions). - Knowledge of backups and recovery, security administration, database and server performance monitoring, tuning and trending, and capacity planning.- Experience with partitioning, file group optimization, database mirroring, log shipping, and clustering and expertise in SQL Server database replication. - Hands-on experience with developing, optimizing and maintaining DTS and SSIS packages. - Relational data modeling and conceptual, logical and physical database design and implementation experience.- Experience designing and implementing data warehouses and data marts.- Experience working with distributed, scalable, highly-available architectures.- Experience with database modeling tools desirable.- Experience with data integration and ETL technologies desirable.- Experience with master data management tools and technologies a plus.- Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation a plus.- Experience upgrading SQL Server 2005 to version 2008 a plus. - Bachelor*s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.- SQL Server Certification preferred Solution Partners, Inc. Job Description:
Our client has an immediate need for a SQL Database Administrator with Qfiniti application experience in the Des Moines area. Essential Functions:
Maintain and support database systems including system upgrades, new software releases, patch management, backups and replication, system administration, security management, vendor relations, and issue resolution in accordance with industry standards
Provide technical insight and support in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of production systems hardware and software
Provide support to company application units including planning, design, development, budgeting, performance tuning, and issue resolution
Prepare activity and status reports for active projects and systems as required
The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
Overall call center experience and knowledge is a MUST
2+ years Qfiniti application experience is a MUST
5 years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft SQL database systems in enterprise level, complex call center environment
Experience with Oracle is a strong plus
Excellent oral and verbal communication skills are needed with the ability to work well in a team environment
